Ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef brisket
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Coleslaw optional, for serving

Method

  1. Prepare the brisket by trimming any excess fat and patting it dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, making sure to coat it evenly.
  4. Place the brisket in the slow cooker and pour in the beef broth and apple cider vinegar around the sides.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the brisket is fork-tender.
  6. Once cooked, transfer the brisket to a cutting board and let it rest for about 15 minutes before slicing.
  7. Slice against the grain into thin slices and serve on hamburger buns. Add coleslaw if desired.

Notes

For optimal results, always ensure to rest the brisket before slicing. Serve alongside tangy coleslaw to add freshness and balance.
